4th of July Weekend 2010...

I should have probably titled this post...Fireworks, Fireworks and MORE Fireworks! Our festivities started on Friday evening. We got invited to a party this year where they had the most AMAZING fireworks display. This family lives on several acres out in the country and he has become somewhat of a fireworks pro:) They were close and BIG! We also got to reconnect with some friends we hadn't seen for a while at the party. It was a fun night. Thanks D.T and family!

On Sat. we spent part of the day at the pool. What a BEAUTIFUL day! In the late afternoon we took the kids to the movies. There have been so many movies advertised that the kids would like to see. Liam and I saw Eclipse. I admit it...I LOVE the Twilight saga!!! I did not want the movie to end:) LOL! Liam is really into them too. He likes all the vampire and wolf action. Lance took the rest of the gang to see the movie Grown Ups. He said it was typical Adam Sandler and the kids thought it had some really funny parts.

After the movie we headed to the annual 4th of July party at the Miller's house. Attendance was down this year...but I have NO idea why?! The kids and I look forward to this party all year. They know how to throw the BEST parties! Once again this year, the food was SO good and all the decorations were beautiful. The kids really enjoy all the craft projects, activities and goodies available. Not to mention...ALL the cotton candy, snow cones and sugar cookies they can eat. The fireworks display over Winona Lake is always beautiful. GREAT night...Thanks Miller Family!

On Sunday, we grilled out with some family after church. Brats, summer spaghetti, spicy deviled eggs, baked beans, watermelon and apple pie:) YUM! We then headed back to the pool for a couple hours. We had such PERFECT weather all weekend! We ended our celebration drinking a few bottles of wine on our back deck with friends, eating Dominos and MORE fireworks. This was our first 4th of July in our new neighborhood and apparently, they are BIG into fireworks. We felt like we were under fire until late into the night;) I had also gotten some poppers and sparklers for the kids. VERY fun night!!!

Freedom is a WONDERFUL thing and we are SO blessed! BUT...I am most thankful for the Freedom that I have in Christ! That you Jesus for setting me free! I love you!!!

  1. I can't believe our families didn't spend any time together over the holiday weekend. That's a first in at least five years...
